Vacancy for Gynecology Clinic in Skellefteå
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for an equitable welfare system and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
The Centre for Obstetrics and Gynecology (CFOG) Västerbotten is a county organization with a total of approximately 250 employees, where units at the county's three hospitals are included and cooperate. CFOG has a working approach with county-wide process orientation, and the hospitals in the county are jointly responsible for ensuring that people in Västerbotten have access to specialist maternity care, childbirth, neonatal care, neonatal home care, gynecological clinic, gynecological surgery, tumor surgery, and robotic surgery.
The unit in Skellefteå has approximately 90 employees. The operations include childbirth services and a joint care ward for neonatal and gynecological care. Benign gynecological surgery is conducted within the unit, and cooperation takes place with the unit in Umeå for tumor operations. The clinic services consist of specialist maternity care, a gynecology clinic, and a midwife clinic. Infertility investigations in the county are centralized to the clinic in Skellefteå.
We are now looking for a substitute for one of our employees who is going to study at the Gynecology Clinic in Skellefteå.
Here, we work in a flat hierarchy within teams, where midwives, nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, medical secretaries, and others collaborate to provide the best possible care for our patients. At CFOG, employees are expected to participate in operational development, for example, by participating in working groups or through their own areas of responsibility.

Job Responsibilities
As a midwife/nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.
In your role, you are a team player in everything that happens at the Gynecology Clinic. We work professionally and put the patient at the center. The tasks involve addressing the patients' medical and specific care needs, planning, and prioritizing the measures to be taken. The work consists largely of administrative tasks where you handle patient cases via telephone advice and respond via 1177.se. To some extent, it also includes physical patient meetings where you, in your professional role, care for day-care patients and assist in clinic surgeries where we use patient-controlled sedation. The work at the clinic includes participating in abortions. You will also have your own clinic patients, for example, for cell sampling, changing prolapse rings, certain STIs, and seeing patients with acute gynecological complaints.
We are a clinic that constantly renews work methods and develops care, greatly benefiting both patients and employee satisfaction.
The employment is full-time, 40 hours/week, daytime Monday-Friday.
Qualifications
We are primarily looking for you who are a licensed midwife, or alternatively, you who are a basic trained nurse. It is meritorious if you have experience within surgery/gynecology and/or clinic work.
You enjoy working both independently and in different teams and are flexible both in thought and action. You are interested in development and logistics, and are solution-focused.
Being service-oriented and having good communication skills in Swedish, as well as English, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for this job, as you will meet and convey information to patients with different backgrounds.
Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis. We warmly welcome your application today!
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start: Start date by agreement. The position is a substitute until 2027-09-30 with a chance of extension.
